PHOTO STORY

Mitch Reflected in a Mirror in Black & White

For five years, koitz photographed Mitch in Southern California, creating an intimate and playful portrait of a particular time and place. From that body of work, twelve photographs were eventually selected and published in a postcard book titled Mitch in Wonderland, the second volume in the Pretty Gay postcard series.

Sadly, the series ended there. Only two Pretty Gay postcard books were ever published, and today both have become sought-after collectors’ items.

This photograph, however, never made it into Pretty Gay: Mitch in Wonderland. It remained outside the published collection, making it a rare glimpse into the larger body of work koitz created with Mitch over those five years.
